A list of laws that govern the SPACIES universe, to review when your metaphorical pen of inspiration is out of ink.
May they rip open a creative portal to a new inspired universe like the sound of a typewriter clacking away as a writer furiously types out their manifesto.
Like the taste of warm chocolate chip cookies
Like an endless supply of blank canvases.
Like the sound of a thousand voices whispering in unison.
And remind you of whatever you need to be reminded of.
The Universal Laws of SPACIES
You are the bridge between the Ordinary World and the Special World.
Keep it clear to remain a fluent translator.
Simplicity = expansion.
All you need is what’s in front of you to do your Sacred Work. A practice space and time to practice. Everything else is NTH. (nice to have)
Free yourself from the tyranny of coolness.
Aesthetic weirdos will inherit the earth.
Keep the faith in divergence.
Divergent strategies pull us back to the importance of process and help us remember the work is the Work.
Collect accidents, wrong turns, incorrect answers.
The wrong answer is the right answer in search of a different question. Increase your failure tolerance. If you’re doing it right, you’ll get it wrong a lot. Love the experiment.
Space is intelligent.
Do not underestimate it.
Drift.
Abject boredom is the elusive key that opens the rarest portal of innovation.
In every moment you are surrounded by portals to other dimensions, realities, and universes.
Portals appear to those who look. Stay vigilant!
Spot cosmic breadcrumbing.
One door opens the next.
Don’t be precious.
None of this lasts, for better or worse. It ain’t that deep.
How you spend your time is how you show what matters to you.
Exist accordingly.
All of this is subject to change.
(maybe we should sell erasers?)
Hi hi! First, I absolutely love what you share, I have a book called "Daily Rituals" which is all about what famous people of the past did to get started on their creative journey, and getting to read what contemporary creatives are doing is so wonderful. I wanted to send you a direct message but couldn't figure out if that was possible. I noticed that there might be a minor typo in one of your questions: "Andy Warhol used to change his perfume every three months because we wanted to have scent memories associated with that time period in his life. What scent will you associate with this time in your life?" Should it say "he" instead of "we"? Just wanted to bring that to your attention. Thank you for sharing what you do. I love it!
i really, really, REALLY love this. such a vibe.
